Andrew focuses his practice on complex financial transactions and disputes, including tax-exempt bond recoveries and workouts and a wide array of insurance-related matters and litigation.

Andrew’s commercial litigation work includes breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and commercial fraud actions in federal, state, and arbitral forums.

Andrew’s commercial litigation work also focuses on the representation of insurers of municipal general obligation and revenue project bonds and guarantees. He has worked on large municipal bankruptcies, including various Puerto Rico bankruptcy proceedings. Andrew’s bond recovery work also includes the exercise of equitable and statutory remedies on behalf of indenture trustees, as well as complex workouts and settlement negotiations across numerous industries and jurisdictions.

Andrew’s insurance practice includes property and casualty, accident, life insurance, and insurance-linked products and he represents various participants in these markets from carriers to policyholders. Andrew has in-depth experience with premium financing, the formation, sale, and licensing of insurance companies, and regulatory representation.

Andrew maintains a very active pro bono practice representing clients in the New York Family Court. 

Previous Work

Andrew attended law school at night and, throughout law school, worked full-time in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office’s Appeals Bureau as a paralegal. While there, he drafted numerous briefs and motions in many complex criminal appeals. Before law school, Andrew was a special education teacher in the New York City Teaching Fellows. He taught students in grades 2-5 who were classified as having severe emotional disturbances.

Publications, Presentations & Recognitions

In 2021, for his work in commercial litigation, Andrew was named to “The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch” list.

In 2016, for his work on behalf of inmates incarcerated for low-level drug offenses, Andrew received the firm’s Albert E. Arent Pro Bono Award for outstanding contribution to the public interest.

While in law school, Andrew served on the Fordham International Law Journal and Fordham Moot Court Board.

Life Beyond the Law

As a native New Englander, Andrew lives and dies by the Red Sox standings. He also tries to visit his family on Cape Cod as often as possible.

As an adopted New Yorker, Andrew enjoys running in Brooklyn Bridge Park with his dog, Lyra, and exploring the City with his wife and friends.
