Doug’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of real estate transactional law, including the development, acquisition, financing, leasing, operation, and disposition of all types of commercial, residential, industrial, agricultural and mixed-use properties.
Doug uses his experience working in-house to look beyond the immediate transaction and to ensure that his clients’ medium and long term needs are addressed. He understands that closing the transaction is often only the first step in a lease, acquisition, joint venture or financing and provides counsel and guidance that goes beyond that mere first step.
In addition to his traditional real estate practice, Doug has worked extensively on the development and financing of renewable energy and other infrastructure projects. He has represented renewable energy developers in the leasing and acquisition of more than 900,000 acres of land for over 40 project sites in 14 states, Canada and the Caribbean comprising over 9,000 MW in potential generating capacity. Doug has helped his clients develop, sell, acquire and finance projects producing thousands of megawatts of power generation.
