With nearly two decades of experience, Jasjit brings to bear experience as a patent examiner, prosecutor, and a litigator to help clients navigate the challenges of procuring, licensing, and litigating patents. With the full breadth of his experience, Jasjit is one of a handful of attorneys that manages every aspect of client’s intellectual property (IP) needs.
Jasjit has successfully handled over 60 patent litigation cases in US district courts, International Trade Commission, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition to litigation, Jasjit is trusted by clients to oversee development and management of global patent portfolio, and provide freedom to operate opinions. Jasjit has also led IP due diligence for technology acquisitions in excess of $1.4 billion.
Client Work
- Represented a semiconductor company against a competitor in a multi-patent infringement action in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The case also involved 16 inter partes review (IPRs)—both offensive and defensive—before the PTAB.
- Represented Viken Detection in three IPRs challenging the validity of three patents asserted by a competitor in District of Massachusetts. Successfully invalidated all three patents at the PTAB.
- Successfully defended a Swiss software and data protection company in a patent infringement suit brought by a non-practicing entity involving software activation technology in Eastern District of Texas.
- Represented a pharmaceutical corporation in the District of New Jersey against a foreign competitor involving patent infringement and breach of contract claims. Successfully obtained over $1 million in attorney’s fees for competitor’s spoliation of evidence.

Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Jasjit was a patent agent and subsequently an associate at a national law firm. Jasjit also served as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for eight years prosecuting patent applications in fields of data storage and computer peripherals.
While in law school, Jasjit interned at the US International Trade Commission, Office of the General Counsel focusing on section 337 patent litigation.
Life Beyond the Law
Outside of work, Jasjit enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
