Jodi Tai

Jodi represents companies and individuals in various business, commercial, and litigation matters. As a member of the complex litigation group, she supports clients across several practice areas, including partnership disputes and general commercial matters.
Jodi assists US and international companies navigate the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and with regulatory compliance and voluntary disclosures. As a member of ArentFox Schiff’s Forced Labor Task Force, she also helps companies conduct due diligence on their supply chains and with submissions to Customs for the release of merchandise detained in connection with forced labor Withhold Release Orders.
Jodi also has experience with the classification of merchandise under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. She advises clients on trade policy issues, such as the Section 301 tariffs on imports from China. Jodi has assisted with compliance issues with federal and state regulations including the Fish and Wildlife Service’s administration of programs relating to protected species.
Her pro bono practice focuses on assisting vulnerable women and children with immigration matters, such as applying for Special Immigrant Juvenile classification and asylum.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Jodi was a law clerk at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office where she assisted in the prosecution of child abuse and sexual assault crimes. During law school, she mediated small claims and civil harassment within the Los Angeles Superior Court System as a member of the USC Gould Mediation Clinic. She was also part of USC’s International Arbitration Competition Team that competed at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, in 2019.
