Health Care Partner Anne Murphy will present at the American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) Annual Meeting on June 28.

Anne’s presentation, titled “Health Care Governance in the Real World: What National Surveys Are Telling Us,” will focus on what the results of three recent surveys reveal about the state of governance in health care today.

The surveys that will be discussed include a governance survey that Anne developed with her co-presenters for The Governance Institute and AHLA, which was distributed nationally in 2020 to governing board members, executives, and in-house counsel for health care provider organizations, along with the 2021 Association of Corporate Counsel Chief Legal Officers Survey and the 2021 EY Law Survey. Anne and her co-presenters will share their key takeaways from these surveys, including board size, composition, and competency trends; the relationship between a company’s board and legal counsel; trends in General Counsel reporting relationships; and more. They will also identify practical means for using the survey results to facilitate governance-related discussions at health care organizations.

The AHLA Annual Meeting brings together nearly 1,500 health law professionals seeking the most current information and analysis on the top legal issues facing the health care industry. This year, the meeting will be held virtually.
