ArentFox Schiff Private Clients, Trust & Estates Group hosts part two of our Family Office University Event Series on July 26, 2023 in Washington, DC.
ArentFox Schiff is hosting the second session of our AFS Family Office University, an ongoing series of in-person and virtual events hosted by our Private Clients, Trusts & Estates Practice Group.
Those who run family offices long enough are bound to encounter some rough waters — maybe not at the level of “Succession,” but friction can infect any family. Family offices may be the target of complaints, or they may be caught in the crossfire. Either way they need to know how to minimize the damage.
In the second session of our Family Office 101 series, “Keeping Controversy at Bay: Litigators’ Lessons for Family Offices,” panelists Dave Blickenstaff, Adam Diederich, Kirstie Brenson and emcee Kevin Matz will offer best practices for family office leaders on how to identify and minimize common sources of controversy and disputes. The presenters will discuss how best to handle family office conflicts, such as children or siblings who seek more control in a business, divorce or disabilities that destabilize longstanding relationships, and complaints from beneficiaries about investment approaches.
