OEM Spending on Incentives at Record-High Levels

Manufacturers are spending more money than ever before on incentives according to a recent online article published by McKinsey & Company, a New York based global management consulting firm.

The article revealed that in the United States between 2010 and 2017, OEM spending across all brands as a percentage of MSRP increased 8 points.  That means manufacturers are spending well in excess of 20% of MSRP to incentivize sales in the U.S.  During the same time period, the car rebate index across all brands in Germany rose a staggering 54%.
