NAFTA The Long (and Short) View from Washington
Later this month, Arent Fox Director of Canada-US Cross Border Business Affairs Birgit Matthiesen will serve as a keynote speaker at the Bay Area Economic Summit.
Birgit’s discussion on June 27 will cover the latest NAFTA developments and the consequences for companies in Ontario. In advance of her speech, Birgit wrote an article in the Hamilton Spectator and advised that, “Canadian executives must work with Ottawa before formal NAFTA talks begin this summer. They must identify for negotiators the market advantage in the US which the current NAFTA provides. They need to dust off their NAFTA rule book and take a fresh look at which rule has provided that advantage, and how.”

The Summit, in its third year, is co-hosted by the Hamilton and Burlington Chambers of Commerce and aims to drive regional integration to increase local jobs, prosperity and quality of life. For more information click here.
