Pamela Deese Mentioned in Article Featuring Popular Sports Catch-Phrases

Arent Fox Intellectual Property partner Pamela Deese was featured in a Missouri Lawyers Media article featuring the legal debate over the phrase “Rally Squirrel.”

Missouri Lawyers Media follows the controversy over who owns the registration for “Rally Squirrel,” which was initially used by merchandise makers during the St. Louis Cardinals’ championship run to the 2011 World Series.

Ms. Deese was mentioned for her work with her client, pro basketball player Jeremy Lin, who is trying to register the trademark “Linsanity.” Ms. Deese said that the registration battle lingers in the US Patent and Trademark Office, though Mr. Lin put his application on hold until the only other remaining application is finally turned down.
