Panelists Question Miami’s Arbitration Credentials
Complex Litigation and International Partner Hunter Carter was recently quoted by Latin Lawyer from a lively dialogue on whether Miami rates as a world-class seat for arbitration at this year’s Latin Lawyer GAR Annual Arbitration Summit.
The “inquisition” style panel had a deliberately and decidedly humorous approach to the serious question of where to choose to arbitrate. Being from New York, Hunter asked the question: “[i]s Miami a serious seat of arbitration or is it a playground?” He also recounted his time as a law student on Miami Beach, constitutional law textbook in hand and surrounded by sun-creamed tourists and added “[s]ome call Miami the sixth borough [of New York]; but I’ve had a different experience.”
