Sports Venues Incorporate Communal Engagement Areas

Arent Fox Sports Leader Rich Brand and Associate Zak Welsh co-authored an article published by the Daily Journal that highlights how the incorporation of communal engagement spaces into a stadium or arena can be a win-win for teams and venues.

The article examines how sports venues are exploring new ways to enhance the in-venue experience to make attending games more attractive to new and younger fans by creating communal engagement areas.

The article reviews some of the dynamic new spaces being rolled out at sports venues, including the “Treehouse” party deck at the Oakland Coliseum, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Pet Paradise Dog Park, and the Tampa Bay Rays’ Stingray Touch Tank. It also touches on the revenue generation aspect of these new spaces, from greater sponsorship and branding opportunities, to the increased ticket sales, and the additional concession sales.
