Anthony V. Lupo Recognized with ‘Game Changer Award’ at New Global Paradigm Symposium
Washington, DC — In recognition of his standout career as a leading entertainment attorney, Arent Fox LLP partner Anthony V. Lupo was honored with the prestigious Game Changer Award on September 18 at the New Global Paradigm for Entertainment, Arts and Sports Symposium in Washington, DC.
Mr. Lupo received the award in recognition of his “note-worthy” accomplishments and “game changing” contributions as an international leader in entertainment law. Also recognized for their contributions were DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the National Football League Players’ Association; Donald Dell, group president, Lagardère Unlimited Americas, and Donald Fehr, executive director, National Hockey League Players’ Association.
In particular, Mr. Lupo was honored for his role as a “go-to” attorney for an array of notable clients, including Discovery Communications, Hulu, Oprah Winfrey Network, and Pixar in the area of entertainment and Google, LG, and PlayStation in the technology space. Recently, Arent Fox has advised Discovery Communications, the global media and entertainment company, on the trademark and intellectual property aspects of its acquisition of Eurosport, Europe’s leading sports entertainment group, and LG Electronics USA, the division of the huge Korean conglomerate, on the trademark and IP aspects of several of the company’s products.
The Symposium, which is sponsored by Howard University Law School, featured some of the country’s preeminent business executives and lawyers and provided networking opportunities for leaders in the entertainment, arts, and sports industries.
Mr. Lupo is routinely recognized as one of the premier intellectual property attorneys in the country. Chambers USA rates him as one of only four Tier 1 lawyers for intellectual property in Washington, DC, while the Washington Business Journal regards him as the District’s number one IP attorney and World Trademark Review 1000 rates Mr. Lupo as “top-tier counsel” in both contentious and non-contentious work.
The Washington Post recently reported that Mr. Lupo is making a “career out of breaking the mold of a typical DC regulatory lawyer,” while maintaining a “bustling entertainment practice that could rival that of a California firm.” And Washingtonian magazine reported that Mr. Lupo “stands out” in Washington’s crowded legal circle.
