Arent Fox Announces 2019 AF Fellows Class
“Congratulations to this year’s AF Fellows Class,” said Partner M. Scott Peeler, who leads the AF Fellows Program. “This is a novel program within our industry for its holistic approach to leadership, diversity, inclusion, and empowerment. We didn’t create a training course that focuses on a single aspect of leadership. Instead, we designed this comprehensive program to help attorneys grow individually, build camaraderie, and protect one of Arent Fox’s greatest assets — its culture.”
Attorneys selected for the AF Fellows program include senior associates and recently promoted counsel and partners. As part of the program, the Fellows attend retreats, participate in seminars, identify key issues at the firm, and help develop strategies for addressing those challenges. The 2019 AF Fellows Class, which is shown below, includes Anne-Carmene Almonord, Friederike S. Görgens, Justin A. Goldberg, Annie Chang Lee, Emily M. Leongini, Andrew R. Levin, Jeannette Carneiro McLaughlin , Michael P. McMahan, and Luna M. Samman. This dynamic new group joins the program’s two concurrent classes, for a total of 30 AF Fellows.
The first year of the program, AF Fellows learn key concepts of effective leadership and gain insights into personal leadership styles through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Skillscope 360-degree assessment. In the second year of the program, AF Fellows will learn from current and former firm leaders about what it’s like to make management decisions at Arent Fox, strategies for overcoming challenges, and the importance of protecting a culture of inclusion and empowerment. In the final year, AF Fellows will identify a meaningful issue at the firm and suggest a strategy to improve it.
