Arent Fox Launches Fashion Counsel with Anthony V. Lupo
WASHINGTON, DC — With Fashion Week 2013 underway in the world’s premier luxury markets, Arent Fox LLP is announcing the launch of Fashion Counsel with Anthony V. Lupo, a legal blog that highlights critical issues for designers, retailers, and manufacturers.
Fashion Counsel features legal updates, analysis, and a video series that examine key points of law impacting the retail fashion industry. The video series is hosted by Anthony V. Lupo, who heads the firm’s Fashion & Retail practice. Mr. Lupo conducts one-on-one interviews with CEOs, business leaders, and Arent Fox partners who focus on areas of the law that are pressure points for the industry, including Advertising, Promotions & Data Security, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, Media & Entertainment, and Real Estate.
“We launched Fashion Counsel as a service to help clients pinpoint legal issues that affect the every-day business of luxury retail companies,” said Mr. Lupo, who serves as outside counsel for leading fashion clients that include Lacoste, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Escada, Geox, Benetton, Sisley, Camper, DSquared, Just Cavalli, and Maison Martin Margiela. “With the videos, we address these topics in a free-exchange format and hope that we can build a wider appreciation for the complexities involved in bringing high-end fashion to market.”
Fashion Counsel introduces new content and video features on a weekly basis, with three episodes already posted. Upcoming videos will cover US and European privacy law, product safety, immigration, royalties, and arbitration and labor agreements.
Rated a Tier 1 intellectual property lawyer by Chambers USA, Mr. Lupo is widely recognized as one of the preeminent fashion law attorneys in the country, with a focus on advertising, promotions, and data protection. In his role as general counsel for a number of high-end European fashion and luxury goods companies, Mr. Lupo handles matters that include corporate, real estate, employment, class action, national and global distribution, fulfillment, and California-specific litigation (Prop 65, wage and hour, and false claims and unfair competition).
