Schiff Hardin Adds Christopher Roman in Chicago to Growing Trusts and Estates Practice
Schiff Hardin LLP today announced that Christopher Roman has joined the firm’s Private Clients, Trusts and Estates practice group as counsel in the Chicago office. Roman’s addition continues the firm’s strategic expansion of this group, having added three other estate planning lawyers in both New York and Chicago over the last six months.
“Chris brings significant experience in designing sophisticated estate planning structures that safeguard a client’s wealth and protects it for future generations,” said Thomas W. Abendroth, leader of Schiff Hardin’s Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Practice Group. “We are pleased to have him join as we continue to strategically grow this group.”
Roman’s practice focuses on wealth planning and preservation for high net worth individuals and families, including devising complex strategies to reduce tax exposure for closely held business owners, family offices, and principals of private equity and venture capital funds.
“I chose Schiff because of its nationally recognized private client practice and its excellence in client service,” Roman said. “I look forward to joining such a strong team.”
Roman joins Schiff from Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP, where he designed trusts and managed estate administration for clients. Prior to that, he was an associate at Levin, Schreder & Carey in Chicago and Einhorn, Harris, Ascher, Barbarito & Frost, P.C., in New Jersey. Roman earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2009, and received an LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University of Law in 2013. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and History from the University of Notre Dame in 2004.
