Our Work

Risk Assessments and Implementation of CSR Standards

Conduct operational audits to identify and remedy weaknesses in corporate practices; conduct corporate training; and assist in implementing compliance procedures to ensure consistency with various government regulations and CSR guidelines.

Anti-Corruption Counseling and Investigations

Advise on the identification and mitigation of corruption risks and compliance with anti-corruption and anti-money laundering laws and regulations, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA); develop and implement customized anti­corruption compliance programs to meet and exceed relevant industry and legal standards; conduct due diligence of third parties; conduct investigations where anti-corruption violations may have occurred; and serve as independent compliance monitors pursuant to US Department of Justice (DOJ), US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and World Bank agreements.

Responsible Trade and Investment

Advise on sanctions compliance, securities reporting, and compliance with other regulations and guidelines in connection with supply chain management and sourcing decisions, including in the areas of conflict minerals and human trafficking; develop compliance systems to avoid sourcing or importing goods subject to sanctions or other prohibitions; conduct due diligence to identify corruption or human rights-related risks of investments in emerging markets; and facilitate engagement with local stakeholders including communities and governments.

Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution

Advise and represent clients in relation to alleged human rights violations in US courts (including under the Alien Tort Statute), in international arbitration, and in mediation; and advise and represent clients in other alternative CSR-related dispute resolution processes, including under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) National Contact Point complaint process.

Human Rights Counseling and Investigations

Advise on the identification and mitigation of human rights risks and compliance with human rights-related laws, regulations, and guidelines; develop and implement customized human rights compliance programs to meet and exceed relevant industry and legal standards; conduct due diligence and human rights assessments; and conduct investigations where human rights violations may have occurred, including in relation to the use of local or private security forces.
