Ali Recognized Among Crain’s Chicago Notable Military Veteran Executives in 2021
The list highlights veterans who have made significant contributions to advancing the issues that affect veterans within the workplace and have also demonstrated accomplishments and the ability to affect change in their field.
Mir served in the U.S. Army from 2000-2007, including two tours in Afghanistan, and reached the rank of captain with the Army Special Forces (Green Berets). He chairs Schiff’s Veterans Subcommittee and co-leads the Military Inclusion Group. In September 2021, Mir launched Task Force Melmastya, a nationwide pro bono legal effort to assist Afghans trying to escape to the United States.
In 2018, Mir led the firm’s team in establishing a partnership with the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program, a national network of attorneys providing pro bono legal assistance to veterans. He is also a founding member of Team Red, White & Blue, a national nonprofit that helps veterans transition from military to civilian life.
Mir and his work with veterans have been featured in Chicago Lawyer, ABA Journal, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Law.com, and Law360.
