Do You Have The Right Tools for Consumer Data Compliance?
The Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) launched tools in late November that will assist businesses with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance, by increasing consumer control over data on all DAA participating companies through simple tools.
The new DAA tools will allow consumers to opt-out from the sale of personal data, including use for interest-based advertising. This will be helpful for businesses as they implement procedures to honor CCPA consumer rights.
The CCPA specifically requires that consumers have a clear and recognizable mechanism to opt-out of the sale of data to third parties. The DAA guidance calls for both website and mobile application creators to show the CCPA-mandated text link and a unique DAA-created icon to users on their digital properties. The DAA’s CCPA opt-out tools will be available in English and Spanish on desktop browsers, mobile web browsers, and a mobile application.
