Charles has been practicing patent law since 1968 and trademark law since 1973.

Client Work

Charles focuses on electrical, electronic, software, mechanical, and business method patent matters. He also has extensive experience in trademark, copyright, and e-commerce matters, including prosecution, counseling, and licensing.

Previous Work

After receiving his engineering degree from the University of Maryland, Charles worked for four years as an electronics engineer for the US Navy. While attending law school at American University, he was a Patent Examiner in the US Patent and Trademark Office. After graduating from law school, Charles entered private practice.

Professional Activities

Charles is a former adjunct professor at the Capital Institute of Technology and instructor at Patent Resources Group. He currently holds membership in the International Trademark Association (INTA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and American Bar Association (ABA).
